We've heard it all. “Viking debt collectors are scammers!” "Viking Client Services is running a scam." "Viking debt collectors threatened me." And the list of accusations goes on and on.

At Viking Client Services, we know that we’re doing good work, serving our customers and treating people with the dignity and respect they deserve. We also know that our employees work hard and are the reason we have been successfully building our company for more than 50 years. We understand that we’re working in a tough industry with a challenging reputation. Some of the negative publicity we’ve received comes from some bad seeds in our industry and some negative voices who misrepresent who we are and how we do the work we do.

On one hand, we understand. Nobody wants to get a phone call from somebody who is trying to collect on a debt. Nobody wants to be surprised by a call from one of our employees, because that usually means that our employees are going to expect payment. Sometimes the circumstances surrounding a debt or an insurance claim are questionable. So on one hand, people dread our calls and often avoid them. On the other hand, our employees are simply representing the information given to Viking Client Services by our clients.

That dilemma puts our employees in a lot of tough conversations.

They’ve been accused of being scam artists and thieves. They’ve been called liars and have been on the receiving end of all sorts of torrents of language and cursing.

A quick Google search will give you mixed reviews — and almost none of them are in the middle of the road. You’ll see 1-star reviews that say Viking Client Services leadership belongs in prison. You’ll see 5-star reviews that say Viking Client Services is doing good work. People are either saying, “Viking Client Services is who they say they are” or they’re saying, “Viking Client Services is lying about debt that I owe, threatening to expose my debts to my family and friends, and trying to destroy my credit score.”

This challenge is not new to the work we’re doing.

Subsequently we’re not new to the criticism and challenges that come along with it. We know that not every engagement or encounter is going to be positive. We know that some people will avoid our calls. We know that some people are actually not liable for the debts that our records indicate. We train our people to treat people with respect and to do the job in front of them. Sometimes that means they’re collecting on debts. Other times it means they’re investigating claims.

Whichever scenario ends up being reality, our values and standards remain unchanged. Our people aren’t trained to harass, and if any of them do, they don’t meet our high standards. Our people don’t employ sketchy methods for contacting people or engage in threats or name calling, and if they do, they no longer fall under the category of “our people.”

More than half a century in business speaks for itself. We value the people we work with and work for, and we’re glad to be part of helping successful companies keep up the good work they do. If you are looking to do good work for a good company, consider checking out Viking Client Services. We are building a team of hard workers. We listen to our people, pay them well, and promote from within.

Give us a shot!
